Owner – Corina Collections Showroom
What is one of your key items this upcoming Holiday/Resort 11-12 season?
Vibrant agates interspersed with lustrous baubles in gold settings are key. Also, completely new for Holiday2011 is a fresh interpretation of Zariin bestsellers in silver plated settings.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
To add a unique fusion look, I am inspired by the revival of classic techniques and mystical ethnic legacy seen in modern forms. Inspiration comes from the passion and raw beauty of natural stones lending a bold dynamic to feminine delicacy.
What are some of your favorite trends this season and have you incorporated any of them into your designs?
Some of the colors that will be in the spotlight for Winter 2011 are black and white, metallics, and maroon. Also, the metal look will be big this winter. We are capturing that trend in our new collection with metallic gold balls mixed with raw stones in bold settings. Long chains with heavy layering are a trend that will continue from last year, so we have increased our depth in the chains with silver and gold encased stones.
What will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?
Retailers will be drawn to lots of color this season, which is Zariin’s trademark look, as well as the newer bold and statement designs of our necklaces.
What direction do you see the accessories industry moving in?
Accessories will always remain a necessary complement to mainstream clothing in the fashion industry, although the trends may shift from indulgence to parsimony, and back. Jewelry will always be a woman’s means of self-expression and her non-verbal tool to communicate her personality and style.
If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why?
Angelina Jolie. She’s a woman of substance and timeless beauty who believes in herself and breaks the barriers of conventional beauty. Like Zariin, she has a certain rawness about her beauty and charms that will set her apart from her peers forever.
What are three things you can’t live without?
I can’t live without love, creativity and peace.
