What is one of your key items for this upcoming Spring/Summer 2012 season?
I would have to say that my new bracelet designs are one of my prominent items this year. These bracelets have been created to compliment my long, elegant earring collection. Fabulous, fun and oh so feminine!
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I have been a world traveler most of my life. Over the last 30 years I have lived, traveled and studied in India. This is where my inspirations blossomed into a lifelong quest for perfection. There is an elegance and beauty to the Indian women. They absolutely know how to adorn themselves, which has taught me about connecting to the woman inside of me.
How do you start the design process when creating a new collection?
The designs just jump out at me. This is not a process I have to think about, it comes from an intuitive place. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing my designs light up a beautiful woman and in turn her natural beauty makes my creations even more stunning to the eye. It’s all an amazing process.
What do you think will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?
I think retailers will be drawn to my collection this year because I totally focus on presenting the beautiful stones. There is not a lot of fuss about my jewelry as I believe that elegant simplicity is so attractive to the eye. Within these gorgeous stones are healing properties that draw the individual who knows exactly what she needs at the present moment in time.
If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why?
Angelina Jolie embodies that true elegance and simplicity that I look for in my designs. I even had a dream that Brad was sitting with me and choosing a gorgeous ring for Angelina for their engagement! The dream was so real; I will let you know if this actually manifests.
What is your personal fashion philosophy?
“Whatever you wear should bring out all of who you are. Don’t be afraid to shine!”
What three items are essential to you during market week?
Three things essential to my market week are my stunning jewelry collection, water, and playfulness (we have to have fun girls!).
