What’s your favorite part about conceptualizing a new design?

I start by choosing a luxe fabric with a soft hand and selecting the perfect color palette. I like to work with colors that other designers shy away from.

From where do you draw inspiration?

Tilo designs are often inspired by the elements. The color palette is drawn from rich Autumn hues to the eye-catching exuberance of Spring berries and Summer water.

What do you think will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?

Retailers will be drawn to the bright colors, interesting prints, and the best quality-to-price ratio in our product category.

How would you define your city’s fashion?

Cosmopolitan and International mixed with practical because ofCanada’s cold winters.

Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?

My greatest fashion influences are fearless, chic, well-traveled women who take a flight on a whim and who are always flawlessly accessorized. I design for a woman who’s most important accessory is her passport.

What three items are essential to you during market week?

Market week essentials are: my sales representatives’ relationships with the buyers that they work with, clear and detailed color line sheets, a pair of flats in my bag for the end of the day, and of course a scarf for every outfit.

Where can readers find out more about your work?
