How did you develop your interest and expertise in the fashion industry?
I started in the luxury fashion industry over 20 years ago. During my tenure I’ve been able to touch upon all divisions such as marketing, merchandising and sales. For the last 15 years, I have held a senior executive position and R&Em is my latest project. It’s been so exciting to apply all my luxury fashion expertise to R&Em, a brand that has a designer aesthetic with a more affordable price point.
Describe the type of retailer that carries R&Em.
The type of retailer that carries R&Em is a fashion-forward store who is part of the trendsetting that is happening in the retail industry.
What is one of your key items for this upcoming Holiday/Resort 2011-12 season?
The Gig Bag. It’s perfectly versatile so you can get a lot of wear out of it; it works as both a cross body and a shoulder bag.
What do you think will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?
Retailers will be drawn to our on-trend pieces that are affordable and animal friendly.
What changes have you noticed in retail over the last year?
I have noticed that consumers appreciate price value more than ever.
If you could dress a celebrity, who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why?
Rachel Bilson; she has a knack for mixing and matching trends and styles and wearing slightly unexpected but very wearable pieces.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I love going to SoulCycle after a long day at the office. It’s such a great workout and stress reliever all-in-one.
