What’s your favorite part about conceptualizing a new design?
I start a new design by sitting down to clear my mind for a moment and seeing where it takes me.
From where do you draw inspiration?
The world around me! I like to find inspiration in every day objects from an interesting pattern in a fabric to the crinkle of a cracked sidewalk. I also draw specific interest from my Southern Heritage in wallpapers and linen designs.
What do you think will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?
Our diversity is legendary, as our classic design meets contemporary influence. We are using a deep rich color palette of olives and browns in our collection so that it pairs with all of the Fall trends.
How would you define your city’s fashion?
I am originally from the South but have lived inNew Yorkfor the last fourteen years. This has given me the opportunity to blend both classic patterns that are rich in history with uniquely inspired individualized fashion pieces.
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
My Grandmother has been my greatest influence. She taught me that elegance and poise are timeless; just a slight update makes the item fresh yet timeless. In her words, “When you see a slightly worn item, many say it needs replacing where in fact it shows and gives character.”
What three items are essential to you during market week?
Three essentials during market week are our new hard resin magnetic bangles, the “Leopard Necklace Collection” and link bracelets that are built to layer.
