What’s your favorite part about conceptualizing a new design?
Imagination keeps me focused and inspired but first I conceptualize by a theme, a story and a purpose. With this in mind, I start to create. My favorite part of creation is when it is followed by a “dream” that finishes the touches.
From where do you draw inspiration?
I find elements that may seem ordinary and combine the special aspects in unique ways to bring out their best attributes.
How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion?
I believe fashion is a state of mind and each individual’s style is their own fashion statement. Research and interaction with those “in the know” is my way to stay up-to-date with fashion.
What do you think will draw retailers to your collection this upcoming season?
My collection is unique in the manner that the elements are natural and the aesthetic is classic with a modern touch. It’s functional and caters to women of the new world. Most of all though, my works are a point of conversation.
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Coco Chanel, and Princess Kate Middleton in the present generation are fashion influences of mine. When it comes to designers, my inspirations are Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Fendi, Prada and Judith Leiber.
