What does the dragonfly symbol of the Tabelina logo represent?

The Tabelina symbol is a majestic dragonfly in the shape of a woman’s body. A heart is in place of the head symbolizing how women think with their hearts. The woman in the logo follows her heart to manifest her dreams because she knows that only through the power of the heart do dreams really come true! Our lives, like the lives of the dragonfly, are but a fleeting moment in time so we must dream without limitation, live with intensity and authenticity, and fly like the Tabelina.

Where does the brand’s name come from?

‘Tabelina’ is the nickname given to me by my maternal grandmother. This name evokes memories, lessons, and inspiration from a strong woman who taught me to dream, believe, and work for what I want in life. Tabelina has been affectionately named in honor of my sweet grandmother.

Which elements are important in creating pieces that are complimentary to all individual styles?

I like to design and create pieces with today’s woman in mind; the busy woman that wants to feel comfortable and confident but also elegant and chic. I love playing with colors which has a tremendous effect on how we feel. Ideally we not only want to look good but also feel good.

What is one of your key items for this upcoming Holiday/Resort 13-14 season?

Definitely the Valentina Crossbody Hobo. It is a very elegant and chic bag in snake pattern leather mixed with gold and pink.

In your opinion, what is the distinction between style and fashion?

Fashion is to follow trends and wear an ugly or a beautiful piece that doesn’t go with your personality or your body type. Style, on the other hand, is you; who you are and what you want to portray. How do you want to be seen and what is the statement you want to make with your clothing and accessories?

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I am terrified of frogs.
